FIRST-PERSON: The faith of George Washington

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--President’s Day is an excellent time to reflect on the Judeo-Christian heritage handed down to us by our Founding Fathers, and especially George Washington, the “Father of our Country.” George Washington was born Feb. 22, 1732 on a modest plantation in Virginia. The son of Augustine and Mary Washington, he was baptized into the Episcopal Church.

FIRST-PERSON: Standing for life

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--Life is precious. Miraculous. Delicate. Created by a loving God who makes every human being unique. King David prayed: "My bones were not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was formed in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all [my] days were written in Your book and planned before a single one of them began" (Psalm 139:15-16, HCSB). God is the Author and Artist of human life.
