PERU (BP) -- When Peruvian couple Caleb and Devora Quispe got married, Devora was a new believer. Caleb longed to become a missionary, but Devora preferred to stay home and help run the family sewing business. Caleb strongly believes that when a couple marries, they become one.

ZOMBA, Malawi (BP) -- International Mission Board missionary Susan Sanson, 67, died of malaria in Zomba, Malawi, on May 18. She developed a sudden onset of malaria on May 17 and began treatment. However, early the next morning her husband Billy woke to find her unresponsive. He rushed her to the hospital, but she passed away as medical staff were examining her.

ASENDABO, Ethiopia (BP)--Muslims have killed at least one Christian and wounded several others in anti-Christian violence in western Ethiopia, according to International Christian Concern, an organization that helps persecuted Christians worldwide.       ICC also is reporting that Muslims have burned down 69 church buildings, 30 Christian homes, a Bible school, a Christian orphanage and a church office.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (BP)--It's not your typical Africa. Kids -- many of them Caucasian -- run across a grassy soccer field, practicing their dribbling and goaltending skills. The wind is so cold it causes teeth to chatter and eyes to water. The hot chocolate at break time garners great anticipation.
