Indy to mark Daniel Akin’s first SEBTS luncheon address

INDIANAPOLIS (BP)–Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary’s new president, Daniel L. Akin, will address the seminary’s annual alumni luncheon June 16 in Indianapolis.

Akin became president of the Wake Forest, N.C., seminary on Jan. 15; he had served as vice president for academic administration and dean of the school of theology since 1996 at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. Akin also is the author of a new book, “Discovering the Biblical Jesus,” published by LifeWay Christian Resources.

The luncheon, held in conjunction with the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting in Indianapolis, will begin at noon Wednesday, June 16, in the Indiana Convention Center’s Sagamore Ballroom #1 and #2.

Tickets are $12 per person and may be ordered by calling Southeastern’s alumni office at (919) 761-2202 or purchased at the seminary’s booth in the SBC exhibit hall.
