REVIEW: Third Day reaches out to America with song

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)–The boys from Atlanta are back with their new single “Come Together,” titled from their CD “Come Together” available in Christian bookstores Nov. 6 from Essential Records.

Third Day delivers another song to continue their rich tradition within contemporary Christian music. But can this one live up to their reputation?

The message of this song is one we should all pay attention to, especially in light of the nation’s Sept. 11 tragedy.

The song urges, “There’s a lesson that we’ve got to learn, we are brothers and we’re sisters, we are one. We’ve got to come together, ‘Cause in the end we can make it — alright, We’ve got to learn to love.”

As you can see, it addresses the problem that causes so much trouble in the world, hate. While doing so, it encourages everyone to replace his or her hate with love.

The musical and lyrical quality, meanwhile, are almost guaranteed to leave fans of this band with a treat. “Come Together” creates a median between Third Day’s sounds, not the total edgy feel of their earlier song “Consuming Fire,” but more upbeat than their recent hit “These Thousand Hills.”

This single is bound to become a classic in the hearts of many listeners.
