Hundreds of women enjoyed learning about missions in Southern California as they traveled on several coach buses June 12 to explore mission venues near Anaheim, Calif., where the two-day Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting will be held June 14-15. While on the buses participants learned about ethnic groups and mission opportunities in the area.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (BP) – Despite pandemic-related challenges in 2021, Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) ministries grew, and the Southern Baptist Convention auxiliary entered 2022 on strong footing, leaders heard at a meeting last month.

This year, the Baptist Theological Institute (ITB), in Bucharest, Romania, celebrated 100 years of existence and partnership with Southern Baptists. From vision-casting to sending personnel, Southern Baptists have walked alongside Romanian Baptists. The plot of land the institute sits on and the buildings that house it were purchased with Southern Baptist money, some of which was raised by members of Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) who sold eggs collected on Sunday mornings.
