EDITORIAL: Call Congress now; urge support for marriage amendment during Sept. 30 vote

WASHINGTON (BP)--The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on the Marriage Protection Amendment, H.J.R. 106, Thursday, Sept. 30. Supporters say that if it is to pass, Christians nationwide must take action now by calling their congressman. That time is now. Call your representative and urge support for the marriage amendment.

The United States Senate is debating S.J. RES. 40, The Federal Marriage Amendment, which would revise the Constitution to read:
      "Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman. Neither this Constitution, nor the constitution of any State, shall be construed to require that marriage or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon any union other than the union of a man and a woman."
      Call your senator and let your voice be heard.
