NOBTS graduates challenged to ‘praise the Lord’

NEW ORLEANS (BP) -- "Praise the Lord" every step of the way, Chuck Kelley, president of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, told graduates at the school's May 16 commencement. "Out of all the words you've read, all the words you've known," Kelley said. "Out of all the things you've experienced in your studies, I want to be sure you leave here with three words: Praise the Lord."

Frank Page, at NOBTS, addresses suicide epidemic

NEW ORLEANS (BP) -- "I've never preached on this subject at a seminary before," Frank Page said. I've spoken on it in churches a few times, but not often. "For you see, five years and two months ago, my daughter left her family behind when she committed suicide. That 'left behind' feeling still affects us to this day," Page, president and CEO of the Southern Baptist Convention's Executive Committee, said in his chapel message at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary Jan. 27.
