WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump for the first time acknowledged his defeat in the Nov. 3 election  and announced there would be an "orderly transition" on Jan. 20, Inauguration Day, after Congress concluded the electoral vote count early Thursday (Jan. 7) certifying President-elect Joe Biden's victory.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Mike Pence was vaccinated for COVID-19 Friday (Dec. 18) in a live-television event aimed at reassuring Americans the vaccine is safe. He celebrated the shot as "a medical miracle" that could eventually contain the raging coronavirus pandemic.

President Trump, first lady test positive for COVID-19

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump have tested positive for the coronavirus, he said Friday. The positive test comes with a month until the election and just hours after the White House announced senior aide Hope Hicks had come down with the virus after traveling with the president several times this week.
