MILAN, Italy (BP) – Early in her trip to Milan, Italy, for outreach connected to the Winter Olympics, Kim Cruse encountered a college student named Ari who worked at the local cathedral, Duomo di Milano, where she handled entrance tickets for thousands of tourists.

CLEARWATER, Fla. – A piece of toast. Kermit. A purple anime ninja. Avatar skins flashed across the screen like a late-night meme scroll, each one more absurd than the last.

JOHANNESBURG – One hundred African leaders from 33 nations assembled in Johannesburg, South Africa, in early February to discuss the future of missions on their continent. A common theme reverberated from their lips: It’s time for Africa to embrace its potential as the world’s next great missionary sending force. 

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A common desire among Southern Baptist churches is to incorporate unity among the congregation’s different generations.

MILAN, Italy – Southern Baptists are ready to share the hope of Christ with the nations! As the 2026 Winter Olympic games get under way, International Mission Board missionaries from all over Italy are teaming up with hundreds of U.S. volunteers from South Carolina, South Dakota, Louisiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama and Georgia to reach Milan with the Gospel.

For more than 30 years, International Mission Board missionaries were absent from Liberia. Civil war and unrest tore through the small West African nation, forcing missionaries to evacuate and leave churches without the support they once knew.

Let the Games begin! More than 3,500 athletes from 93 countries have gathered in Milan, Italy, where they will spend the next two weeks competing for Olympic gold in sports like skiing, figure skating and ice hockey.  

NASHVILLE (BP) – Cooperative Program giving was strong in January with receipts totaling more than $19.3 million. The generous giving brings the yearly total to less than 1 percent behind the annual goal.

ROGERS, Ark. – International Mission Board trustees approved the appointment of 41 new full-time, fully funded missionaries during their Feb. 4-5 meeting in Rogers. Trustees met in conjunction with a Sending Celebration for new appointees hosted by First Baptist Rogers on Feb. 4.
