KANSAS CITY, Mo. (BP) – Cars in the parking lots on Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary’s campus were sparse this December, and fewer seats than usual were occupied in the Daniel Lee Chapel. Still, during four separate ceremonies spanning nine hours, the MBTS community recognized and celebrated the accomplishments of its graduating students, as the school held its 68th commencement exercises Dec. 11.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (BP) – Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary’s fall trustee meeting focused on gratitude for enrollment gains amid difficult circumstances as well as celebration of faculty elections and reelections.
J.W. “Jack” MacGorman, long-time professor of New Testament at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, is donating his personal library to the seminary; Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary will be represented by 39 faculty members, current Ph.D. students, and recent graduates as they present scholarly papers at the 72nd annual meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society.

Alabama joins the nearly 20 state conventions adapting or not holding an annual meeting in 2020. The volleyball era at Spurgeon College got off to a rousing start Sept. 1. Several New Mexico Baptist churches are offering custom face masks in an effort to abide by the state’s mask mandate.
