ORLANDO, Fla. (BP) – The Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee reelected Anthony (Tony) Dockery as chairman June 8, along with a full slate of officers and committee chairs in a meeting focused on God and aimed at serving the Convention with accountability and a streamlined budget.

ORLANDO (BP) – Hispanic Southern Baptists gathered at First Orlando to celebrate what God is doing through their ministries and churches. The event drew approximately 1,200 people and began with food trucks and bounce houses outside before moving indoors for worship, seven baptisms, a call to salvation and a renewed commitment to ministry.

ORLANDO – Carolyn Fountain of Monroe, Louisiana, was elected the 25th president of WMU, SBC during the WMU Missions Celebration and Annual Meeting on June 7, 2026 in Orlando, Florida. She is the first African American woman to serve in this role, and succeeds Connie Dixon of Elida, New Mexico, who has served as president since 2021.

ORLANDO, Fla. – At one point during Bishop A.B. Vines’ message, he had his more than 200 listeners join hands in a double-room-size circle. Vines – identifying himself as “disunity,” he said, – failed to break through peoples’ arms in several places around the room because everyone in the circle was intentional in keeping him out, he explained.
