GameDay Church, in 2nd NFL season, ready to expand
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (BP) -- When most people think about tailgating, they think of football, food and fun with family and friends. But believers in the Jacksonville area will have the chance to add faith to the mix before every Jacksonville Jaguars home game as GameDay Church returns for the 2016 NFL season. Last year more than 200 people gathered for a new kind of worship experience as GameDay Church held its first service outside EverBank Field just before the Jags took on the Indianapolis Colts on Dec. 13.
Former adult store site redeemed by church plant
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (BP) -- There was something the landlord didn't disclose before D3 Church launched in a newly rented space on Jan. 10. A fellow pastor "mentioned in passing that it was really cool that God was putting a church in what used to be an adult video store," lead pastor John Thomas said. "I didn't have any idea of the history."
102-year-old returns to pastorates before ‘glory’
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (BP) -- Woodstock Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Fla., welcomed one of its former pastors to preach Jan. 10 -- 102-year-old Oliver Everett (O.E.) Boals, who led what was called Woodstock Park Baptist Church during the 1950s. Gary Poplin, Woodstock's current pastor, looked forward to meeting the man who had such an impact on the church. Poplin said there are current members who were baptized by Boals during his tenure there.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (BP) -- One Florida Baptist father is going to great lengths to make sure his children understand the importance of sharing the Gospel. In fact, he and his daughter went all the way to Cuba. Brenda Harden, 11, can now say she got to bring the Good News to a third-world, communist country.
