ORLANDO – On Tuesday afternoon, June 9, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary President Danny Akin presented his 23rd and final seminary report to messengers at the 2026 SBC Annual Meeting. As Akin, who will retire on July 31, stood to deliver his report, messengers honored him with a standing ovation.

ORLANDO (BP) – Florida Pastor Willy Rice was elected president of the Southern Baptist President during the Tuesday, June 9, afternoon session of the 2026 SBC annual meeting at the Orange County Convention Center.

ORLANDO – Before hearing some of the metrics about Southern Baptist mission work in North America during the 2026 SBC Annual Meeting in Orlando June 10, Kevin Ezell brought to the stage several missionaries and staff members who represent the face behind those numbers.

ORLANDO (BP)- “If you took all the people on our planet with disabilities and added them together, you would have the third largest country in the world, just behind India and China,” asserted Tom Stolle, executive director of the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware.

ORLANDO – International Mission Board President Paul Chitwood took to the podium late Wednesday morning (June 10) to bring his report on behalf of the largest Southern Baptist Convention entity. He addressed messengers in Orlando for the 2026 SBC Annual Meeting, bringing greetings and thanks from more than 3,500 missionaries and their 3,000 children.

ORLANDO – Sandy Wisdom-Martin, executive director of WMU, SBC, began WMU’s report to the Southern Baptist Convention on June 10 by introducing Carolyn Fountain, who was elected president of the missions organization on June 7 during WMU’s Missions Celebration and Annual Meeting in Orlando. Fountain succeeds Connie Dixon who served as president for the past five years.
