Danny Akin celebrates 20 years as president of Southeastern Seminary
WAKE FOREST, NC (BP) -- Twenty years ago Monday (Jan. 15), Southeastern unanimously elected Daniel L. Akin as its sixth president, recognizing God’s providence in directing Danny and his wife Charlotte to Southeastern. Now in his twentieth year, Akin has distinguished himself as a humble leader with an unwavering commitment to God’s word and a singular focus on fulfilling the Great Commission.

Missions and theology are meant to be kept together because the Bible never separates them. The testimony of Scripture is that biblical theology fuels missions and biblical missions fuels theology. That is why it should be no surprise to us that the greatest Christian missionary was the greatest Christian theologian. It is also why we must work especially hard to reintegrate theology and missions in our lives and in our churches.
In 2023, SEBTS equips students, churches to make disciples

(BP) -- In 2023, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and The College at Southeastern witnessed God’s continued favor as students came from around the world to receive biblical and theological education from a Great Commission perspective. Equipped to serve the Church and fulfill the Great Commission, 537 graduates were sent out to make disciples in rural towns, urban centers, and hard-to-reach places around the world.
