Tellers named for 2026 SBC Annual Meeting
ORLANDO (BP) – Southern Baptist Convention President Clint Pressley has named the roster of tellers to count votes at the 2026 SBC Annual Meeting June 9-10. Pressley named David Haynes, senior pastor of First Baptist Church Senatobia, Miss., to lead the team. Haynes and his wife April served as tellers at last year’s meeting in Dallas.
Year-to-date CP totals close to last year’s at same point
NASHVILLE (BP) – Cooperative Program giving for April was below the budget goal for the month and total giving remains about 3.5 percent under budget for the year. However, in actual dollars, year-to-date giving ($110,336,543,27) is almost identical to the amount given through April of last year ($110,474,314.95) – a difference of .12 percent.
Pressley names 2026 Registration Committee
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (BP)—SBC President Clint Pressley announced May 4, that John Pendelton will chair the Registration Committee for the 2026 SBC Annual Meeting in Orlando in June. Pendleton, pastor of Bardstown Baptist Church in Bardstown, Kentucky, was a member of the committee in 2025.

Former pastor receives three life sentences for child sexual abuse

2026 Committee on Nominations Report released
NASHVILLE (BP) — The SBC Committee on Nominations has released its 2026 report in advance of the 2026 SBC Annual Meeting to be held June 9-10. Per SBC bylaws, the report is to be released through Baptist Press no later than 45 days prior to the gathering.
