SWBTS to vote on presidential nominee Feb. 26-27

FORT WORTH, Texas (BP) — Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary will hold a special called trustee meeting Feb. 26-27 to vote on a presidential nominee, according to an email sent Feb. 14 to students, faculty and staff.

The nominee’s name has not been announced.

“The Presidential Search Committee has prayerfully completed its work and will be recommending a presidential candidate to the Board of Trustees at a Special Called Board Meeting scheduled for February 26-27, 2019,” interim president Jeffrey Bingham wrote in the email. “Please join me in lifting this Board meeting up in prayer. The candidate’s name will be released ahead of the meeting in a forthcoming news release.”

If approved by the full board, the presidential nominee will succeed Paige Patterson, who served as president until May 2018.
