Familiar face may have key role at Golden Gate’s SBC luncheon

INDIANAPOLIS (BP)–A familiar face to Baptists in the West may be the featured speaker during Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary’s June 16 luncheon for alumni and friends in Indianapolis.

Jeff Iorg, executive director-treasurer of the Northwest Baptist Convention, has been nominated as the seminary’s next president to succeed William O. Crews, who has retired and now holds the post of seminary chancellor. Trustees are scheduled to vote on Iorg’s nomination during an April 26-27 meeting at Golden Gate’s Mill Valley, Calif., campus.

Also slated for the seminary luncheon is the announcement of this year’s distinguished alumni award recipient.

The luncheon, held in conjunction with the Southern Baptist Convention’s annual meeting, will be held at noon Wednesday, June 16, in the Indianapolis Convention Center’s Wabash Room 3.

Tickets, at $10 per person, will be available at the seminary’s booth in the SBC exhibit hall or by calling 1-888-442-8709.
